They say that it takes a village to raise a child. As part of a growing and ever-changing village, KYFS reaches out to our children, youth and families and gives them opportunities to rise above, be resilient and succeed!

With programs ranging from our Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program and Head Start classrooms to transitional housing for teen moms at Watson Manor, KYFS is here for children and their families. From Substance Abuse and Prevention programming, to individual, family and school-based Counseling, our professional staff listens and truly cares.

Our programs provide the power of positive role models with compelling free-time alternatives. With our Outreach afterschool and Lighthouse evening drop-in programs, we guide our youth in goal-setting, teach respect and help them build trust and confidence in themselves and each other. We also enhance young adults’ self-reliance with our HottShotts Espresso job training. Most of all, we provide children with healthy choices and opportunities to grow.

KYFS nourishes our future generation. At every age and every stage, our goal is to empower children, youth and their families by teaching, mentoring, tutoring, training and supporting them as they grow into committed and responsible citizens of the Kent and Covington communities.
