HottShotts espresso stand steams up business! Operated by KYFS, and located at the Norm Maleng Regional Justice Center in Kent, HottShotts offers job-skill training and promotes good work habits to adjudicated and at-risk youth. The experience encourages participants to return to school, complete their education, and to pursue higher education as well as learn a valuable job skill. Under the supervision of on-site adults, these youth serve a delicious array of hot and cold beverages, sandwiches, and sundries to the public. In addition to communicating with the general public, these youth also have the opportunity to interact with a community of professionals, which includes judges, other elected officials, jurors, police, members of the print and broadcast media, and King County staff, all while providing a quality product and good customer service! Since acquiring the operation from King County Work Training Program in 2001, King County Facilities Management has partnered with KYFS in the operation of HottShotts.
